The challenge
Lloyd Motor Group were looking for a digital partner to help bring their vision to life online: to be recognised as a world-class automotive retailer, delivering exceptional customer service at every touchpoint.
But the auto buyer journey is complex, often beginning long before a customer steps into a showroom. Lloyd Motor Group needed a website that could support this journey end-to-end, allowing customers to engage with the brand at every stage of the purchasing journey.
With a strong in-house development team already in place, IDHL stepped in to support the early phases of a new website build. Our role was to collaborate closely with their internal team, providing expertise across discovery, UX, design and UI build, before supporting the handover and ongoing delivery.

Our approach
Our goal was to help Lloyd’s Motor Group stand out in a highly competitive market, shaping a new website that is intuitive, easy to navigate and reflective of the brand’s premium positioning.
User-led insight
Usability and user needs sat at the heart of the project from day one. A remote usability review of Lloyd Motor Group’s existing site identified positives and where users were encountering friction.
Building on this insight, UX workshops were ran to define key personas and explore user behaviour. Brand business goals were aligned with user motivations, ensuring every design decision was rooted in real customer needs.
Simplified structure, intuitive design
We reviewed Lloyd Motor Group’s existing site architecture and content. Our experts restructured and refined these to better reflect user intent, creating a clearer, more intuitive navigation that reduced customer friction.
Working closely with the brand’s in-house development team, we translated this strategy into a refined UI design that balanced usability with a premium aesthetic.
Collaborative, ongoing support
Collaboration was central to the project’s success. As Lloyd Motor Group’s internal team took ownership of the build, we supported them with a comprehensive Storybook containing all components and templates. We remained closely involved throughout delivery, providing hands-on guidance to ensure the final implementation stayed true to the original design intent.
