The challenge
When IDHL started working with the team, the business faced significant operational and technical constraints. Without an in-house technical team, Swoon managed all its inventory through spreadsheets—a labor-intensive, costly approach that caused stock inaccuracies and inconsistent customer communications.
Meanwhile, the brand had outgrown its existing tech stack and was nearing the end of life on Magento 1.
Swoon clearly needed to replatform quickly, automate stock management, and introduce a scalable eCommerce solution to support ongoing growth.
Our approach
Improving operational efficiency
Operational challenges were addressed first, with our web experts designing and building bespoke enterprise integrations connecting Swoon’s logistics, order management, and warehousing systems. This automation replaced manual processes with a unified, accurate inventory view across the business.
Platform upgrade
Next was the replatform. Swoon was scaled to Magento 2, paired with a progressive web app (PWA) front end. This headless approach enabled rapid iteration between design and development, delivering faster performance, greater flexibility, and enabled our first PWA Accelerator build.
The result
Through collaboration, the new website launched in just 86 days, thanks to the headless applications—our fastest Accelerator delivery at that time.
The new platform reduced page load times by 70% and transformed Swoon’s operations. Automated back-end processes now offer real-time inventory visibility, while the PWA provides a fast, future-ready experience optimized for mobile commerce.
Post-launch, we continued optimizing operations, including developing Swoon’s “WISMO” solution. By integrating freight data from Zencargo, customers can now track individual SKUs throughout manufacturing, transit, and delivery.
