How IDHL transformed Swoon's operational efficiency, achieving 70% faster loading times

The challenge

When IDHL began working with the team, the business was facing significant operational and technical constraints.Without an in‑house technical team, Swoon managed its entire inventory through spreadsheets - a labour‑intensive, costly approach that led to stock inaccuracies and inconsistent customer communications.

At the same time, the brand had outgrown its existing technology stack and was approaching end‑of‑life on Magento 1.

It was clear that Swoon needed to replatform quickly while automating stock management and introducing a scalable eCommerce solution that could support continued growth.

Our approach

Improving operational effiency

Operational challenges were tackled first, with our web experts designing and building bespoke enterprise integrations that connected Swoon’s logistics, order management and warehousing systems. This automation replaced manual processes with a single, accurate view of inventory across the business.

Platform upgrade

Next came the replatform. Swoon was scaled up onto Magento 2, pairing it with a progressive web application (PWA) front end. This headless approach allowed rapid iteration between design and development, delivering faster performance and greater flexibility while enabling our first PWA Accelerator build.

The result

Through our collaboration, the new website launched in just 86 days, thanks to the headless applications – our fastest Accelerator delivery at the time.

The new platform reduced page load times by 70% and fundamentally transformed how Swoon operates. Automated back‑end processes now provide real‑time inventory visibility, while the PWA delivers a fast, future‑ready experience optimised for mobile commerce.

Post‑launch, we’ve continued to optimise operations, including developing Swoon’s “WISMO” solution. By integrating freight data from Zencargo, customers can now track individual SKUs across manufacturing, transit and delivery.
